Sharing Dreams

"Sharing dreams" as the title of this post sounds a little more magical than it really is... but it has recently become one of my more favorite things that Kimball and I do since getting married. I love waking up in the morning and in our half-awake half-asleep, equally-manly morning voices telling each other what we dreamt about and hearing the whacky ridiculous stuff his mind comes up with. Although, I have to admit my dreams are usually the more absurd of the two. The last 3 nights I have really had some doozies.

So side-story real fast, while we were in California last week, we went to Six Flags and there was this unfortunate little 13 year old girl who was slurping on her blow pop sucker right behind us, literally inches from my ear. And as she'd pace back and forth, I watched the reactions of my husband and little brother start to get equally as irritated as I already was. Good thing the line for this ride was only an hour and a half. So anyways, days later, after we'd come home from the trip and I was asleep laying in bed next to Kimball I started to see the girl in my dream. I dreamt that I started to walk away from her as she unwrapped her lollipop and she just stayed one step behind me the whole time and slapped her nasty little tongue all over the sucker making that horrible sucking noise. Then I started to run and she stayed with me, just haunting me with that slurp, slurpy, slurping. So I threw her a right hook and punched her right in the face. And the slurping stopped right as my husband started groaning. Haha, then I realized that Kimball's dry mouth slurping noise that he does sometimes when he sleeps had manifested itself in the form of that awful little girl and I punched him/her to make it stop. Ha ha.

Then the night after that, Kimball had to wake up that morning at 6:00 to run into work really fast. After he had left I started dreaming that Kimball and I were in some honeymoon suite with two bathrooms, separated by the master bedroom. He was taking a bath in one bathroom and all of a sudden the door burst open with tons of freshman girls came in screaming "Kimball! Kimball! Let's hang out! It's so good to see you!" And to this he responds, "Hey girls, yeah for sure, lets make a plan!" Haha. Cool Kimball. And so in my dream, I slammed the second bathroom door and just watched through the glass door as he flirted with the girls sitting on the edge of the bathtub with him in it. Finally the girls left and Kimball tried to come into my bathroom and I locked it right as he started to push the door open. Then he smashed the glass, broke through the door and started running towards me with his arms straight out as if he was ready to strangle me and right before he caught me, the real-life Kimball had gotten home from work and crawled into bed and wrapped his arms around me. I woke up and just stared up at him with the most horrified, disgusted glare on my face and finally after laying there for a few minutes trying to determine what was real and what wasn't, I said "I had a dream you tried to kill me."

THEN, and I really can't believe anyone is still reading this, the next night I had a dream that Kimball and I were at a concert put on by Utah State and Kimball's buddy Tyler Tolsen, student body president, pulled Kimball up on stage and asked him to dance for the ladies. So naturally, he got butt naked and started dancing for the ladies. Gee wiz. What a sicko. He was shaking his butt and laughing and winking and pointing and making that awful "I'll call you" hand gesture thing where you turn your hand into a phone at girls. All I could do was roll my eyes with disgust. Apparently subconscious Tess is also the most self conscious Tess I know. The bad guys in my dreams are Kimball and freshman girls.

I think this all started with the time some random girl came up to me at church and said, "Are you Kimball's wife? Oh I know Kimball from Snow College, well I don't know him, I just know who he is because all the girls knew Kimball at Snow, all the girls wanted him and all my roommates would talk about him." What do you say to that? That's nice. But I guess you know your life is pretty dang good when you ended up scoring the talk of the town and your worse nightmare is a couple of freshman girls. :) Happy dreaming!
